Impact Crusher Introduction
The impact crusher crushes materials through impact collision between the high-speed rotor and impact plates. Featuring a large crushing ratio and excellent finished particle shape, it meets strict standards for aggregate particle morphology. It is widely used in sand & gravel aggregates, mining, building materials and other industries. In Raymond mill processes, the impact crusher is normally deployed for secondary crushing. It further crushes and shapes primary crushed materials, providing uniformly sized feedstock for Raymond mills and improving grinding efficiency.

Features & Advantages of Impact Crusher
Excellent Particle Shape: After impact crushing, materials fracture along natural texture and weak planes. Final products are mostly cubical with very low flaky content (≤10%).
Large Crushing Ratio: Single machine crushing ratio can exceed 50, which can directly reduce raw material to required medium-fine size in one pass.
Precise Size Control: Discharge size can be accurately adjusted by modifying impact plate position and rotor speed, featuring wide adjustment range and strong adaptability.
Easy Maintenance: Simple structural design enables quick replacement of wear parts such as blow bars and impact liners.

Working Principle of Impact Crusher
After entering the crushing chamber, materials are first struck at high speed by blow bars on the rotor, then thrown onto impact liners for collision and impact. The rebounded materials return to the rotor zone and collide with blow bars or incoming particles to achieve inter-particle crushing. Repeated violent impacts produce cubical end products with outstanding particle shape and low flaky ratio. Discharge size is precisely controlled by adjusting gaps between impact plates. Materials smaller than the preset gap are evenly discharged from the bottom outlet.

Frequently Asked Questions About Impact Crusher
Can impact crusher process high-moisture materials?
It is generally not recommended for high-moisture materials. Normal crushing works at moisture ≤5%. Slight adhesion occurs at 5%~8% with minor influence. When moisture ≥8%, materials tend to stick to blow bars, impact liners and screen plates, causing blockage and lower output. If high-moisture feed must be processed, install pre-drying equipment, adopt self-cleaning impact liners and appropriately widen impact plate gaps.
How to choose between impact crusher and cone crusher?
Impact Crusher: Suitable for medium-hard and softer materials (≤120MPa). Produces mostly cubical aggregates with low flaky content. Yet it suffers fast wear for highly abrasive materials and poorly handles wet feed. It features lower investment cost and fits limestone, construction waste, cement clinker, etc.
Cone Crusher: Designed for high-hardness materials (≤300MPa) with good wear resistance and low sensitivity to moisture. But its finished particle shape is inferior and flaky ratio is higher. It requires larger capital investment and is ideal for granite, basalt, cobblestone and other hard, highly abrasive materials.
What is the difference between impact crusher and sand making machine?
Impact Crusher: Coarser discharge size (10~80mm), excellent particle shape and lower investment. Mainly used for stone crushing, construction waste recycling and fine crushing of cement clinker.
Sand Making Machine: Finer output (≤5mm) and superior grain shape, yet higher capital and wear cost. Specialized in manufactured sand production, aggregate shaping and tailings recovery.
