Project Overview

To thoroughly implement the national "Zero-Waste City" and circular economy strategies, a large iron and steel group in Shandong invested in a large-scale slag powder production line. The core requirement of the project is to steadily produce S95 grade slag powder complying with the national standard (GB/T 18046) to fully replace cement clinker. After rigorous technical and economic demonstration, the customer finally selected Guilin Mining Machinery and adopted the GKLM vertical roller mill integrating high-efficiency drying and powerful grinding.

Project Details

Wet slag stored in the raw material silo is fed accurately and continuously into the GKLM vertical roller mill for grinding by a belt feeder. Equipped with a built-in hot air system, the vertical mill uses waste heat from kilns and hot air from supporting hot-blast stoves to dry slag while grinding.

The dried and ground slag powder rises with airflow to the classifier at the top of the mill. Variable frequency speed regulation enables precise classification. Coarse slag powder failing to meet the 325-mesh (S95) requirement is separated and falls back to the grinding table for regrinding. Qualified slag powder is carried out by airflow into the dust collection system for separation and collection.

Premium Finished Product: The finished slag powder steadily reaches 325 mesh. Key indicators such as specific surface area meet S95 grade and higher standards with high powder activity.

Eco-friendly: No waste water or waste gas is produced during the whole production process. It truly converts industrial solid waste into green building materials.
